Screen Filters
Screen filters utilise hundreds of razor sharp stainless steel profile wires arranged close together in
a curved screen.Waste water enters at the top of the filter unit and is allowed to run down the
face of the screen. The water is able to pass through the gaps between the sieve elements, but any
particles bigger than the gaps are retained. Because of the curved shape of the filter screen, the
filtered waste products fall to the base of the screen where they accumulate. These can then be
washed to waste via the 2" waste outlet. Screen filters have two advantages over other mechanical
filters in that they have no moving parts, and solid wastes are removed from the water body
immediately, before they can be broken down further into dissolved organics, further polluting the
water.Two screen sizes available (200 & 300µm).
