The Role Function:

The primary function of this position is to support the Financial Controller in data analysis, improving and developing corporate management information systems and processing the credit control responsibilities for the business. Credit Control responsibilities include a requirement to work closely with the Front Office and coordinate the debts of existing creditors and deciding whether to allow credit to a debtor.

Credit Control responsibilities also include managing debt recovery, which if a client has paid late or missed payments could involve stopping the supply of goods and services or undertaking legal action, at worst dealing with bankrupt businesses to negotiate recovery of funds.

It is vital that this position builds and maintains close links with the front office who manage the customer relationships, to ensure smooth running of accounts and encourage timely recovery of payments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales / Purchase ledger to nominal ledger reconciliation

  • Collating data for tax computations and auditors

  • Data analysis

  • Developments of the X3 system for management reporting

  • Improving and developing corporate management information systems

  • Reviewing data and amending data as necessary

  • Liasing and working on projects alongside your Iberian counterpart

  • Assisting and being responsible for periodic reconciliations of accounts

  • Playing an active role in the Finance team including holiday/absence cover

  • Accounts management for PAP and TMC (2012)

  • Ad hoc analytical/data analysis

  • Financial data processing in X3

  • Credit Controller responsibilities will include the following tasks:

  1. credit check new customers and open new credit accounts ensuring the company has all the relevant information on the debtor.

  2. Instruct collection agencies/solicitors re: unpaid accounts

  3. Reconcile accounts for the debtor ledger and report to management on a monthly basis

  4. report to management on outstanding issues and inform them early of potential debtors problems

  5. Setting up the terms and conditions of repayment terms

  6. Timely and effective collection of all debts and customers payments

  7. Negotiating re-payment plans

  8. Maintaining contact with front office/customers to ensure invoices are clear for payment

  9. Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices

  10. Posting and allocating daily receipts to accounting systems

  11. Providing accounts information to internal departments

  12. Monitor all overseas debtors

  13. You are expected to regularly review the company’s debt recovery procedures
