Customer Service & Sales Support - CHORLEYWOOD

We are looking for someone whose primary responsibilities will be to cultivate and promote communications between the business and its customers. Duties will include meeting and greeting calling customers, offering advice on products, taking and processing orders, taking payments and telephone sales. This is a unique position offering a varied role within a busy office. The successful candidate must be outgoing, enthusiastic, motivated with a confident telephone manner and accurate keyboard skills. Experience in B2B sales would be preferred. Aquatic experience would be valuable.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong customer service skills, an eye for detail and have a ‘can do’ attitude. You will be responsible for building relationships with existing customers via regular telephone contact as well as dealing with calling customers on site. The role involves handling day to day administrative sales tasks, invoicing, office administration and supporting site sales efforts.  You will be required to be familiar with both our livestock and dry goods offerings, training will be given.  Strong PC skills will be essential, experience with putting together staff newsletters and customer promotion posters/mail chip would be advantageous.


Key responsibilities include (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Meeting and greeting customers / handling customer telephone calls and hobbyist enquiries

  • Answer and direct telephone calls

  • Emailing out deals/new product promotions

  • Working alongside the sales team to formulate new promotional deals and point of sale material

  • Support with sales administration

  • Assisting in fish house sales and livestock promotions

  • Processing and invoicing orders / following up back orders and take payments

  • After sales support and follow up and arrange courier transport

  • Technical assistance to hobbyists and retail customers

  • Supporting in-house displays and open days

  • Offering support where necessary to warehouse and team members.

Desirable Competencies

  • Must be PC literate and attention to detail is essential

  • Work on own initiatives and exhibits strong team player capabilities

  • Strong communication skills and organises and manages time well, working to meet deadlines

  • Highly motivated and with a skill to multi-task

  • Passion for delivering excellent customer service

Hours of Work Monday - Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility in hours to support the operational demands of the business as well as livestock welfare.
