Tabak-Saegebarsch

Widespread in the Caribbean Sea, south Florida and Bahamas, ranging to northern Brazil. Mixed reef  and sand habitat from shallow bays to at least 70m deep. Uniquely coloured with ochre sides, dark and pale blotched pattern over the back, and dark streaks along outer lobes of caudal fin. Moves about slowly and often curious towards divers. One of the larger species in this genus in the western Atlantic, length to about 18cm.
