Mittlerer PazifikWest Pacific and eastern Indian Ocean from Western Australia to India, mainly west of Wallace's line and in southern Indonesia east to Flores. Adults pair on coastal reef flats, slopes, and in estuaries. Small juveniles in mangroves and in freshwater, moving to reefs where usually in small groups amongst coral. Length to 24cm.
