WestpazifikWest Pacific. Indonesia to Marshall Islands, northern Australia and Cocos-keeling and Christmas Islands, Indian Ocean. In clear water along steep drop-offs with moderate currents. Usually at depths between about 10 and 50m. Orange-pink, but appears more blue in deep water. It can be recognised by the yellow spots and scribbles, along the body, and the large caudal fin. Sexes similar, males with long and filamentous caudal fin lobes. Often mixed with Pseudanthias Iori, when schooling. Length to 90mm.
