Océano Índico occidentalWestern Indian Ocean, ranging east to the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Occurs on rubble substrates on or near reefs. Adults usually in 20m or more, and juveniles on reef flats in rubble channels. Juveniles similar to Coris cuvieri, but have black ventral and anal fins and an eye-sized black spot in the dorsal fin. Adults have a distinctive colour pattern. Length to 50cm.
