Femininus Wrasse

South Pacific, ranging from Australia to Eastern Island. Oceanic rocky reefs, usually in small aggregations at depths of about 20m or more. Juveniles more shallow and solitary when small , secretive in large weeds on rocks. Females retreat to kelp when threatened. Males solitary and territorial, patrolling large sections of reef to keep other males away. Length to 12cm.
