Hi Fin Sword Dwarf Parrot

Southern Indonesian waters, from Java and Timor seas. Occurs on deep muddy coastal slopes and is primarily known from deep water trawls, but it also lives in shallow muddy estuaries. Usually occurs in small groups of juveniles, females, and a single dominating large male. Mixes with other species of Cirrhilabrus or with Paracheilinus to feed high above substrate on zooplankton. A spectacular species during display which can change form normal to nuptial in seconds, and back again. Length to 8cm.
