New Marine Reserve Created in Pacific Ocean

At the end of November 2017 the Mexican Government designated an ocean region near the southwestern coast of Mexico as a protected area, creating the largest marine reserve in North America.  The Revillagigedo Archipelago National Park covers 58,000 square miles (150,000 square kilometres) and is home to many important species including 37 species of shark and ray and 366 species of fish, some of which are only found there.
