Stripeys

Subtropical waters of Japan, Hawaiian islands and China seas. Inshore, rocky reefs to about 30m depth. Occurs in small to large aggregations. Readily identified by its colour patterns in its geographical range. It grows larger than its southern cousins and differs most notably in having different black markings ventrally. Small juveniles have a black peduncular bar. Length to 20cm.
