Western PacificKnown from Maumere Bay, Flores, and the Banggai Islands. Habitat comprises brittle corals growing dense and high on rubble slopes of inner reefs, at depths of between 10-35m. Males are identified by their bright red head, even at depths where colour is greatly suppressed. The female is easily mistaken for other orange striped species, but has an additional ocelli at the end of the dorsal fin. Length to about 10cm,
