Week 3

Sir came in with a big box from TMC. In the box we had a big bag of Eco sand. We learned that marine tanks need to be alkaline (that’s the opposite of acidic) and the sand helps to keep it that way. Sir said that lots of people use coral sand that comes from the tropics, but this sand was made here in the UK and is very eco friendly. We washed it in buckets and at the beginning the water looked like milk, but after a few rinses we could put the sand in the tank. The water looked a bit dirty, but sir said that it would clear up. We also received a big purple rock. This will be used to hold the corals we will receive from someone who has lots of them.
